Hi, I’m Yusuf – a software engineer based in Istanbul, Türkiye. I believe the purpose of life is to experience. I develop native iOS apps using SwiftUI and work with backend technologies, mostly with Node.js. I also focus on mobile app marketing and have a bit of a sense for UI/UX design.

I enjoy contributing to communities by blogging about a variety of topics. Lately, I’ve been particularly interested in Hi-Fi sound systems, custom mechanical keyboards, financial law, and weightlifting.

As a developer, I take a product-focused approach and genuinely enjoy the process of building things. To me, software development is one of the most "cost-effective" ways to create something meaningful—though I wouldn’t say it’s always the easiest way (: I care deeply about writing clean, maintainable code and building systems that are simple, scalable and solve real problems. I believe the best products are the ones you can explain to a child; clear, intuitive and purposeful.

Outside of tech, I love reading, discovering underrated places, bushcraft, blogging, cooking and eating. I’m passionate about mobile app marketing, open-source software, digital decentralization and politics.

I’m a true food enthusiast who loves trying new flavors and experimenting in the kitchen. I can cook dishes from various cuisines like Turkish, Italian and Japanese. I adore Turkish cuisine for its rich meat dishes and I’m a big fan of Japanese food because of my love for seafood. Still, if I had to choose just one cuisine to enjoy for the rest of my life, it would definitely be Turkish.

What makes me happiest is understanding how things work and why we do the things we do. Rather than having shallow knowledge about everything, I aim to be a T-shaped person, someone who has a broad understanding of many topics but also deep expertise in one.
